Our services include music therapy, art therapy, play therapy, and counseling. We see clients in our North Chesterfield and Patterson offices as well as providing services to community-based partners in the central Virginia area. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced music therapist to join our team for a staff therapist position.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Therapy
- 5 years experience working as a music therapist
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Counseling or Social Work
- Eligible to pursue licensure in counseling or social work in Virginia
Summary of Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Director, the therapist will provide individual therapy services with a variety of mental health needs, individuals with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorder, and provide group music therapy to individuals in Memory Support Units, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and outpatient Addiction and Recovery Treatment Services. This part-time position can quickly grow into a full-time position at time of hire, especially if licensed. At present, we have a case load of 10-15 client hours to transition. The applicant must be willing to travel and facilitate in-person sessions. In-person sessions will be at the Midlothian office, and space will be fully furnished. The applicant will be required to participate in a background check, maintain HIPAA compliance, stay up to date with vaccinations, and provide references.
Duties:
- Manage all aspects of delivering exceptional services to a mixed caseload of individual and group clients.
- Lead/co-lead groups utilizing an expressive approach to skills.
- Creatively design goal-oriented session plans using best practices.
- Maintain stellar documentation through electronic health records system.
- Implement technology into sessions and troubleshoot technology issues with clients.
- Organization, ownership and flexibility of maintaining schedule.
- Ability to understand and incorporate director, supervisor or client feedback.
- Accomplish projects as assigned and attain a high level of quality on or before deadlines.
- Collaborate with team members in program planning, service delivery, and marketing and development as needed.
- Ability to work with team members to establish best practice yet assertive and independent enough to complete tasks on own.
- Make ethical decisions according to the professional code of ethics and to seek supervision in a respectful and solution focused manner.
Compensation:
- Part-time clinical hourly rate commensurate with experience that includes all direct client hours and documentation at $50/hour; part-time administrative hourly rate to include case consultation and meetings at $20/hour
- Potential for full-time salary at a minimum of 18 client hours per week depending on level of licensure and experience $46,000-60,000
