Individual Music Therapy
Music therapy is the use of music interventions to reach non-musical goals. Similar to OT, SLP and PT, after the completion of a formal assessment, a treatment plan with individualized goals is developed alongside the client or family. Through the use of music therapy techniques, we work on essential skills like socialization, emotional regulation, attention, communication and academics.
Individual music therapy sessions are 30 to 60 minutes long.
Available for all ages and populations, sessions are tailored to each person’s needs.
Comprehensive documentation is maintained throughout treatment.
An assessment is required before starting, including:
- A 30-45 minute session to evaluate needs and music preferences.
- A 15-minute parent consultation with the therapist.
- Detailed documentation to determine suitability and set personalized goals.

Community Music Therapy groups
Music therapy groups in other communities and facilities focus on using music in a social, interactive setting to promote connection, well-being, and personal growth. These groups can vary in structure depending on the needs of the community they serve, but they generally include:
- Collaborative Music-Making – Participants engage in singing, drumming, instrument playing, or songwriting together.
- Social Connection – Emphasis on building relationships, self-expression, and communication through music.
- Community Goals – These groups focus on community well-being rather than individual treatment goals while weaving in the curriculum or goals of your program.
- Inclusive & Accessible – Diverse groups, including people with disabilities, mental health challenges, older adults with dementia, or at-risk youth.
Led by a Music Therapist – A trained professional board certified in music therapy facilitates the sessions, adapting music activities to support emotional, social, or cultural needs.
