Kara Wilson

Licensed Professional Counselor | Art Therapist (ATR-P)

Kara is an art therapist and LPC who is passionate about using creativity and art-making to help adult women navigate identity, relationships, and life transitions. As an African American woman, she understands the importance of exploring personal growth while holding space for cultural identity, societal expectations, and self-compassion.

Kara graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2023 with a Master’s in Art Therapy and Counseling. She has experience supporting individuals in substance use treatment centers, schools, and military bases. Kara uses a trauma-informed and person-centered approach, incorporating motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and creative expression to help clients connect with themselves and their healing process.

Kara works with adults and older teens and especially enjoys supporting women exploring their identity, building emotional regulation, and working through relationship challenges.

Kara only sees clients in person.
